Whether it is trouble with your boss, your partner, the tax office, your phone provider, or anyone else: some kind of disagreement usually turns up sooner or later. This makes it all the more important to take a closer look and analyse the mechanisms of conflict.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Because this helps you <strong>recognise conflicts in good time, perhaps even prevent them in advance, or at least be prepared so that you can respond appropriately.<\/strong> And this is exactly where <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Konflikteskalation nach Friedrich Glasl (&#xF6;ffnet in neuem Tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Konflikteskalation_nach_Friedrich_Glasl\" target=\"_blank\">Friedrich Glasl\u2019s conflict escalation model<\/a> enters the ring. Glasl originally developed the model to describe tensions between states. Debate<\/strong>: Differences of opinion lead to arguments, black-and-white thinking.<br\/><em>\u2192 <\/em><em>Facilitation: A facilitator tries to mediate in terms of content or process.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>3<\/strong><strong>. Actions instead of words<\/strong>: Increased pressure, no more verbal communication, the conflict intensifies. <br\/><em>\u2192 Facilitation <\/em><em>\/ process support<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>win<\/strong><strong>-lose<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong><strong>Coalitions<\/strong>: It is no longer about the issue, but about winning; supporters are sought.<br\/><em>\u2192 Process support: Established <\/em><em>roles or relationships are loosened by a trained facilitator<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>5. Loss of face<\/strong>: The opponent is to be \u201cdestroyed\u201d through insinuations or similar tactics.<br\/> <em>\u2192 Process support\/mediation: A<\/em> <em>mediator recognised by both sides helps develop a compromise.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>6. <\/strong><strong>Threat strategies<\/strong>: Attempts are made to control the situation completely. It is about power. <br\/><em>\u2192 Process support\/mediation\/arbitration<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>lose-lose<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>7. <\/strong>  <strong>Limited <\/strong><strong>destruction<\/strong>: The opponent is to be seriously harmed using every trick in the book.<br\/><em>\u2192 Arbitration: <\/em><em>A<\/em><em> \u201cjudge\u201d resolves the problem; the solution is accepted<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>8<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong><strong>Fragmentation<\/strong>: The opponent\u2019s support system is to be destroyed through acts of destruction.<br\/>\u2192 <em>Arbitration: A <\/em><em>\u201cjudge\u201d resolves the problem; the solution is accepted<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>9.
